Testimonials

Dear Jodi and Alan,
I want to thank you, your staff and especially John Russo for the special help and assistance you gave our family over the past year.

John Russo is an exceptional teacher and person and his patience and abilities are truly to be admired. I had an especially good time on an educational trip to Atlanta with John and my son Andrew. He really knows his stuff and knows how to motivate and be inspiring as well.

We were in awe when Andrew so handily passed the GED on his first try. The entire credit goes to your program and your staffer, John Russo.

Thank you again.

I really am proud of Gabi as yesterday she got her acceptance letter to the Jr. National Honor Society!!!! I am so proud and feel that more than anything she has done, this is my happiest. Education is such a priority with me and Michele and we had a couple of goals when we went out on tour [with Gabi]… 1) Have Gabi return to school exactly where the rest of the class is (she actually showed up ahead of the class) and 2) Have Gabi maintain an average that would qualify her for the NHS (she accomplished that).

"I’m writing to let you know how outstanding Deborah Rogoshewski has been in coordinating my son’s tutoring with On Location Education.  From start to finish, she has responded immediately to all my questions and concerns.  She is very knowledgeable about educational laws and procedures and directed me to other sources of information when needed.  She thoughtfully and patiently addressed all my requests.  The tutors she hired, Mike Biederman and Mike Moss, worked wonderfully well with my son.  With her guidance and support, my son’s schooling in Florida was completed with ease.  I truly appreciate all her help, advice, sensitivity and professionalism.  I wish to thank you both for the excellent service provided."

Sincerely,

Elaine Kent, parent

"It has been eight years since I performed in the Broadway cast of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof. I was the twelve-year-old actress who cherished the time with her tutors as much as the time with her co-stars and who shared with The New York Times my impressions of being a child in a world of adults. The part you and my tutors, Janna Kahr and Amanda Quaintance, played in my experience has remained with me and constantly inspired me. I think of the three of you often, with a fondness and gratitude of which you have no idea......"

Sincerely,

Suzanne Bouffard

"As a parent on tour I found it very difficult to determine what an effect the on-set schooling routine would have, but you exceeded our expectations. You organized the confusion, made it interesting and stimulating, taught the children how to organize and use their time effeciently. Kristin's report card is priceless. She is 5th out of 892 students, and we thank you."

".....I was selected to participate in the Future Filmmakers Program at NYU/Tisch School of the Arts. I've always enjoyed the seminars [conducted at Screen Actors Guild] for they were informative, providing an insight into the world of the child actor. Perhaps one day, Travis [Greisler] and I will collaborate on a documentary about you and the importance of On Location Education, in addition to the Young Performer's Seminar Series."

Thanks for caring,

Peter William Dunn, On Location Education student

"....I was a student through On Location Education when I first moved to Manhattan at age 15, then later enrolled in the School for Young Performers. I have such fond memories of my studies with every OLE and SYP tutor with whom I worked in high school. Currently my GPA at the New School is a 3.86 and I do believe I will graduate with high honors. I think it is a testament to you and your program that a young actor who once studied with you is incredibly interested in redeveloping a relationship and working with you again....."

Best,

Molly Pearson, graduate of The School for Young Performers

"On behalf of the entire Young Performer's Committee, I wanted to congratulate you and thank you for the very successful seminar. The panel with the agents and casting directors captured the avid attention of all while demystifying and clarifying the work these professionals perform. The panel featuring the former kids from Les Mis was highly entertaining and brought into focus the perspective of the child performer and what it means to have professional obligations while also facing educational responsibilities and the commitment and strain that can place on a family. Judging by the joyous sounds coming from the studio, the classes must have been a success...."

"Thanks for spending the afternoon with us to educate Nick [Nickelodeon] on the on-set education process. It was an informative afternoon and the speakers were helpful and knowledgeable. I look forward to working with you again."

Letter from a teacher with the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, after receiving books from Alan Simon, and his son, Taylor.

Dear Alan and Taylor,

Thank you so much for the books that you sent.  I have a lot of young avid readers and they are so excited to have them.  The kids were wondering if we would get to see you in New York.  Let me know if we are coming to your area and I can get you some tickets.

Thanks again!

Sincerely,

Rachel

"My son has had a wonderful educational experience with his OLE tutors. He most recently worked with Alana who was very sweet and caring. He has also worked with Leona, who was really amazing to have on set--professional, sweet, and efficient. Leona really understands kid actors and appreciated his unique needs. I hope Charlie gets to work with these teachers again in the future."

Many Thanks,

Ellie Tahan, parent
