The SAG Young Performers Committee has been producing seminars for young performers underwritten by the Industry Advancement and Cooperative Fund (IACF) for over 10 years. The first such event for the 2006-2007 season offered an introduction to the SAG Young Performers’ Handbook through a variety of workshops presented by casting directors, agents and SAG staff. Casting directors Stephanie Klapper, Cindi Rush, and Scott Wojcik and agent Victoria Kress provided valuable information from their respective industry perspectives. And we were fortunate to listen to SAG staff participants including Nancy Fox, National Director of Policy and Strategic Planning; Todd Amorde, National Director, Organizing; Jim Damis, Senior Manager, Entertainment Field Services; Justin Shenkarow, Young Performers Committee National Chair; and Lee Bryant, Young Performers Committee New York Co-Chair.
