Testing And Evaluation
Ongoing Evaluation

SYP’s teachers and administrators maintain a continuous dialogue with their students’ parents to discuss homework, tests, and individual strengths and challenges. Students’ skill levels in each area of study are determined through ongoing evaluation, including midterms and finals for upper level students. Yearly standardized testing is administered when applicable.

Standardized Testing
SYP offers the IOWA Achievement Test Series (K-12).
College Entrance Exams
In preparation for college, and as part of SYP’s graduation requirements, SYP students are required to take the SAT I exam offered at outside institutions. In addition, students are encouraged to take the PSAT exams in their sophomore or junior years, and are offered assistance in making arrangements to do so at a local school. SYP students are also encouraged to take the SAT II Subject Tests in one or more areas. For all standardized tests, SYP provides its students with the appropriate school code to be used on the day of testing.
